Sculpt the face and bring out the features by dodging and burning using this very quick and efficient method. In this video, we are going to use curves to create realistic highlights and shadows in portraits by just drawing lines. Dodging and burning is nothing but brightening or darkening certain parts of the object in the image, to give the object more dimension and a sense of shape, which would otherwise look flat. Dodge means brighten, whereas, burn means darken. Just fancy ways of saying simple things. The conventional method to dodge and burn takes hours and forms a very crucial part of high-end portrait retouching. It also requires loads of practice and skills. In this video, we will learn how to do it really quickly, in less than 2-3 minutes. Accepted that it won't get as better results and the conventional one, however, it will get much closer in a very small fraction of the time.
