Abolish Photo Retouch & Colorization!

Propose or discuss themes for contests
Wed May 30, 2018 12:58 am
I think all photo restorations and colorizations should be abolished. There are now many programs that fix the photos themselves, you just point and touch and the program fixes it. I've been doing mine by hand the old-fashioned way, as I can't afford any new programs. Since these programs can fix the old photographs, I think it's no longer a photoshop challenge.

Most are Adobe but there are others out there. YouTube has tons of tutorials for it, and a search on Google Images will give you more.

BTW, the old fashioned way is to crank up the compressor, fire up the Paasche airbrush, get the templates and brushes out, mix the paint and retouch.
Ah! the good'ol days.

2) Fotor – less comprehensive but easier to use.
3) InPixio – designed for simplicity.
4) Photoshop Express – for when you need that Photoshop fix on the go.
5) Pixlr – the editor of choice for eCommerce.

Sage, it's not actually compulsory to compete in those themed contests. Others do, and I assume enjoy doing so. Don't be a pontificating blowhard.

IF there is to be a photo retouch/colorization, I think the only thing to make it fair is to provide one source image to everyone.

I know I don't have to compete in some contests, and I skip over quite a few of them.
