I recently receive a 1.68 Honour penalty for casting a bad vote. When in fact it was due to a collaborative and vindictive effort by others to cast untypically low scores upon a fellow Photoshopnation member. The "Apple" contest here http://www.photoshopnation.com/entry/7300/Photoshop-Contest-The-Inspector/
It is a huge waste of my efforts to be unfairly penalized in 2 of the last 3 contest I have entered. The current contest I'm in (due to the penalty) and the other being the recent "Day to Night" contest where my fellow competitors and other members given 40+- hours failed to cast enough votes to validate my entry.
I would like my Honour Points restored please.

True... no IFs about it. As they say "It's been a hell of a run, but all good things must come to an end".
Let me ask you this. Would you allow anyone to freely trespass upon your properties today
knowing you will not be around in 50 or 100 years to possess them?
Assuming your answer would be an emphatic "NO". I then would respond: Smaller scale but same principle.
I was Robbed I tell ya, Robbed... lol

Considering I haven't heard even as much as a whimper from anyone representing the sites administration on this issue.
I must assume that the Inmates have indeed... been left in charge of the Asylum. :scared:

The site is continuously monitored but we prefer not to meddle in your quarrels, this place is self-managed by you and whatever happens good or bad depends on you and the community. The only way to make things work properly is to behave properly, to be honest and fair is the only way to make the system work at its best, try it.

Great to hear from you Untexp. Your response somehow reminds me of "The Keeper" in the original Star Trek pilot episode "The Cage". It's good to know that there is some sort of overseeing entity. Maybe... The Keeper was pretty spooky! lol. I do understand about not wanting to meddle in the simple quarrels of the site members. But I certainly hope someone will be around to answer Site questions/suggestions and tech problems.
Have a good day!

The situation seems to get better, here in the area of Rome and in southern Italy the situation seems to have always been under control and the infections have been relatively few but in northern Italy the infections continue to be numerous, we are still in lockdown, more than 40 days now . From early May many activities will open and it will be possible to move a little more but with safety measures such as safety distance and masks.

Julie, In this particular case my score happened to be the highest and fairest score cast upon your Inspector entry. It was the algorithm that determined my high score was out of line with the other low scores and thus bad. Even after this explanation I don't expect you to understand. It's... OK

And I could care less about a temporary 1.68 Honour penalty. The purpose of the forum topic was to prompt the so called " Mod/Admins" here, to give this site some sorely needed attention. But fat chance... they've given up this site and figure to pacify the old men here with a little red radio button to push. Sad!

You are such a CraftyOne, Julie!
Keep up the good work and have a wonderful day!

Byron, I don't agree with the "bad" score thing. Whether high or low, it's still shouldn't be a BAD vote. The high and low score are thrown out anyway, so why bother to penalize someone casting a vote? Sometimes it's that slider that changes! But you did say it was a conspiracy and vindictive, which I knew has been happening for a long time. That's another story.

I'm here just to have fun.

Again I will take the opportunity to say that the "high and low scores are thrown out" idea is a misconception. It is the individuals "honour score" (HS) that determines whether a vote is discarded in the final calculation or not. An average voting honour (AVH) is obtained for a particular entry by discarding the top and lower 20% individual Honour Scores of the voters. After the average honour score (AVH) calculation is obtained it is compared to the individual honour score (HS) of a particular voter. If that score (HS) is equal to or above the calculated (AVH) the cast score will remain in the final calculation of the average points assigned (AVP).
Now after the fact or after a final score has been determined for the entries each voters score is compared to the (AVP). If an individuals score falls out of the 20 point plus or minus range, that vote will be considered (bad) and a honour penalty (HP) assigned at 8% of the difference. Honour bonuses (HB) are also given for what is considered fair voting.

Considering the (HB's) and if you are an active voter, keeping your (HS) at it's max is not that hard. And as a result most of those high and low votes cast (even the extreme ones) will count.
You can read about honour scoring here.... http://www.photoshopnation.com/help/faq/honour/

IMO... a lot of the problems here could be avoided with a little monitoring. Someone to check in on the contest and entries, welcoming and advising new members, answering questions, critiques, kudos for jobs well done. I've looked back through the archives and it used to be like this here in the past. A much more inviting and pleasant atmosphere. Let's hope that things will change and that the site can return to what it once was.
