Shadows are off. Underwater plants would not show on the left side of the dock as that would be SHOULD BE in complete shadow. |

oh and before you start, the one's on the left are not reflections,they are aquatic plants under the surface of the water ![]() |

ok here are your branches that give the reflections,I deleted the cloned layer ![]() |
LUXNovember 9th, 2018 - 18:14:40 |

you have a point about the relection being equidistant,so what do you want me to do put some branches and leaves hanging down from the top of the image ? How about we say that they were there but I purposefully cloned them out for aesthetic purposes ![]() |

The reflections must be equidistant from the horizon (look at the 4 trees on the right) |
LUXNovember 9th, 2018 - 15:14:49 |

well couldn't they be from a tree BEHIND the viewer and the branches hanging over and above the water but outside the image above at the top |
LigdenNovember 9th, 2018 - 15:09:56 |

I think that there is confusion between reflection and shadow, everything that we see above the horizon must be reflected in the water. you yourself say that the branches are outside the limits of the image so their reflections will be too. |

btw I do appreciate your critique but I am not obliged to convince you,you have the same right to your own opinion as I have to mine ![]() ![]() |

I could very easily have excluded them from the final image but I personally like the way the shadows and reflections at the bottom added to the aesthetics of the composition,even if it wasn't totally realistic |
LUXNovember 9th, 2018 - 14:44:55 |

in the case there was no dock there,they would not be shadows then,they would be reflections in the water |
LigdenNovember 9th, 2018 - 14:43:08 |

Sorry, you have not convinced me: Just imagine that the pontoon is transparent or that there is no pontoon where would you have placed these shadows? |
LUXNovember 9th, 2018 - 10:08:43 |
| |||
there is a big tree behind the viewer and it's branches are high up hidden from view and hanging over the dock and water thus you see their reflections but not them, LOL |
LigdenNovember 9th, 2018 - 08:22:14 |
| |||
We see the shadows of the branches on the pontoon, okay but the pontoon is much higher than the surface of the water so it is impossible to see their reflections in the water because they are hidden by the pontoon itself. |
LUXNovember 7th, 2018 - 20:48:23 |

and I blurred them on the dock to make them look like shadows |
LUXNovember 7th, 2018 - 20:46:04 |

well we could pretend the branches are above the top limits of the image so you can't see them ...now being realistic as you can see they are from the superimposed external of the sunset,I liked their presence in the composition so didn't take them out |

I do not understand the green reflections that are at the bottom right at the corner of the 2 wooden pontoons while we do not see branches in the sky. |
